HURRICANE Dorian UPDATE

UPDATED WEDNESDAY, SEPTEMBER 4, 2019

Here are the latest updates of our church's plans and precautions as Hurricane Dorian continues to move towards Florida. Please continue to LOVE EVERYONE ALWAYS during these days of uncertainty and preparation. We also want to be in prayer for those in the Bahamas and South Florida who are facing the storm at this time.

WEDNESDAY, September 4

There will be NO Wednesday evening activities. If you made dinner reservations for this week, we will move them to next week.

CHURCH OFFICE

The church office will be open beginning Thursday, September 5.

GOSPEL CONVERSATION TRAINING

Life change. It all begins with a conversation. The gospel of Jesus is the most profound reality of life. But sharing it with someone can be as simple as three circles.

Discover how you can share the gospel with anyone during this "3 Circles Gospel Conversation Training" opportunity on Thursday evening, September 5, 6:30-8:30 p.m., in the Maguire Fellowship Center.

SUNDAY, SEPTEMBER 8

  • Discovering Southside will meet at 9:30 a.m. If you want to know more about who we are, there's still time to RSVP.
  • Our monthly Family Worship Night will begin at 5:00 p.m. in the Maguire Fellowship Center.

GIVING

We know many of our members will be evacuating or "hunkering down". In order to limit the negative impact this could have on our ministry budget, please consider giving your offering online or by texting ssbcjax (no spaces) to 77977. Your giving allows us to continue to meet the needs of our congregation while generously supporting our mission and ministry partnerships throughout our community and around the world.

WHAT CAN WE DO?

At this time, the best thing for us to do is to take care of ourselves, our families, and our neighbors. Take every opportunity to love and serve our neighbors. Stay tuned for more information on how we can serve.

We are working to ensure that every member of our church is safe and to learn if there is any way we can assist with specific needs following the hurricane. If you have or know of the need, please email info@ssbc.org. You can also email that address if you are able and willing to meet any of the needs of which we become aware.
