“My Father, if it is not possible for this cup
to be taken away unless I drink it,
may your will be done.”
– Matthew 26:42
Before His death, Jesus took the bread and wine associated with the Passover meal and revealed a deeper meaning. This ancient ritual had been a way to remind Jews how God had delivered their ancestors from slavery in Egypt. But now, Jesus began to show how this bread and wine weren’t just pointing back, they were pointing ahead to an event that was just about to take place. An event that would redeem all mankind from slavery to sin and death. An event that would secure eternal freedom for all who would accept it. Join us each Sunday for a teaching series that explores the meaning of the Lord’s Supper and how the timeless meaning of this ancient meal still has power today. As part of this series, we will observe the Lord’s supper each Sunday between March 17 and April 6.
